Bad news, and Worse News
By Ian Darwin
The worst of today's news was not the Fiberals' budget, bad as that was. Far, far worse news for civilization as a whole was the Canadian Supreme Court decision that the Federal Liberals' gag law should stand. This was challenged by The National Citizens Coalition
The law limits private organizations (spending voluntarily-contributed money) to about 1 per cent
of what tax-supported federal political parties can spend. This is entirely incompatible with free speech; the six sages who side with the gLiberals even admit this, but they're willing to abide it in the name of some obscure higher purpose. One more reason we are overdue for big changes in Ottawa.
