Bad news, and Worse News

The worst of today's news was not the Fiberals' budget, bad as that was. Far, far worse news for civilization as a whole was the Canadian Supreme Court decision that the Federal Liberals' gag law should stand. This was challenged by The National Citizens Coalition.
The law limits private organizations (spending voluntarily-contributed money) to about 1 per cent of what tax-supported federal political parties can spend. This is entirely incompatible with free speech; the six sages who side with the gLiberals even admit this, but they're willing to abide it in the name of some obscure higher purpose. One more reason we are overdue for big changes in Ottawa.

Shakespearean Sonnet Fragment

Composed to show how easy it is to compose a sonnet, this was penned in a few minutes.
While oft we open windows in our house
And suffer from a broken hinge or rail
How greater vex'd when with computer mouse
We try to open Windows, and we fail!
And yet our tribute still we send to Gates
Who toppeth overall our list of hates!
